Oven Cooking:
Prep Time:
10 Min     Cook Time:   2.5  Hours    Total Time:  2 Hour 40 Min    Temp:   350 Degrees F

Ingredients:

  • 3lb Top Round Roast
  • 1-2 Tablespoons Bens’ Meats Steak Spice (This spice has a little bit of a spicy kick use prefered amount to get desired taste)
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
  • 4 Cloves of Garlic
  • 2 White or Yellow Onions Diced
  • 1 1/2 Cups of Low Sodium Beef Broth ( I used Imagine Organic Beef Broth from Bens Meats)
  • 1 Tablespoon of Nutrimax Beef Soup Base (From Bens Meats)
  • 2 Tablespoons of Cornstarch

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 Degrees F if you are oven cooking.
  2. Place roast in insant pot or roasting dish depending on how you are cooking it.
  3. Take 1 Tablespoon of Nutrimax Beef Soup Base and mix with 1 Tablespoon of water to make a paste and spread on top of the roast.
  4. Sprinkle steak spice and salt on top of the roast.
  5. Pour 1 1/4 Cup of Beef Broth around the roast. (Save the other 1/4 cup of Broth)
  6. Put the minced garlic and chopped onions on top of the meat.
  7. Close and lock your instant pot lid and make sure its sealed and the pressure valve is closed. Then press manual and high pressure and set your time to 60 minutes. If you are oven cooking place in oven for the 2.5 hours.
  8. When it is done  cooking let the pressure fully release on the instant pot before opening about 20 minutes. As for oven cooking pull it out and let the roast sit for 20 minutes before shredding it.
  9. Shred the roast outside of the pot.
  10. Mix the 1/4 Cup of Broth and cornstarch then add it to the mixture in your instant pot and turn on your sautee feature to make a thick gravy for your roast. If you are oven cooking take the juices and onions left in the bottom of the pan and put in a separate pan and sautee it over a burner with the broth and cornstarch mixture to make the gravy.
  11. Serve the gravy over your roast and enjoy!
