Prep Time: 20 Min     Cook Time: 25 Min    Total Time: 45 Min     Temp: 390 Degrees F

Ingredients:

  • 1 Package of Hamburger Buns  (I used the Care brand from Ben’s Meats)
  • 1 Ib of Cut Up Chicken Breasts (I got this fresh from Bens Meats and Deli!)
  • 2 Tablespoons Oil
  • 2g Cayenne Pepper Powder
  • 3g Onion Powder
  • 2g Garlic Powder
  • 2g Chicken Seasoning
  • 1g Dried Parsley
  • 25g GF Ketjap Manis (I used the Improba brand from Ben’s Meats)
  • 10g GF Soya Sauce (I used the Kikkoman brand from Ben’s Meats)
  • 15g Sambal Oelek (I used the Improba brand from Ben’s Meats)
  • 100ml Heavy Cream
  • 50g Grated Cheese

Onion Mixture

  • 1 Chopped Onion
  • 125g Grated Cheeese
  • 5g Fresh Parsley

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 390 Degrees F
  2. In a large pan with your oil cook your chicken on the stove top over medium heat. Add your spices and cook for aprox. 10 min until the chicken is close to being fully cooked.
  3. Add the ketjap manis, soya sauce, sambal and heavy cream. Cook on High until suace is slighly thickened.
  4. Remove the chicken from the pan and set it aside. Keep the liquid in the pan.
  5. On medium heat add your diced onion and cook until they are caramelized.
  6. In a bowl combine the onion and liquid from the pan with cheese and parsley. Mix well.
  7. Prepare your buns in either a casserole dish or a baking dish. Cut the bare minimum of the bottoms off and take a small scoop out of the middle. Press down and make sure they are concave.
  8. Place some cheese in the bottom of your rolls then add the chicken, then the onion mixture and top off with a little extra cheese.
  9. Put the buns in the oven uncoverfed for approximately 5-10min (time may vary depending on your oven) until the cheese is melted.
  10. Pull out of oven and serve!

Substitutions:

  • Feel free to use chicken thighs instead of chicken breasts both work great for this recipe.
  • If you like extra spice bump up the sambal and pepper spices. If you dont like spice you can tone down the pepper and sambal in the recipe.

Storing:

  • Leftovers last 3 days in the fridge. For optimal storage put your ground beef mixture in a seperate container and bake ontop of buns when you are wanting to reheat them.
